(334 words) Every spring we celebrate Victory Day over fascism. The Great Patriotic War does not cease to occupy an important place in our memory. More than 73 years have passed since the day Soviet troops entered Berlin. But so far, not only in Russia but also abroad, events have been held dedicated to the events of the most bloody war in history.
Laying flowers at the Eternal Flame and distributing St. George ribbons are far from all the actions, but only the most famous. For example, between the cities of Russia and the countries of the former USSR during the Victory Day, "Memory Trains" decorated with military symbols begin to go. The metro also launches wagons and entire trains in which passengers can get acquainted with military photographs, letters, poems and facts about important dates of the war. In Russia, every year before the anniversary of the Victory, a campaign "Victory Lilac" is held. In 1945, soldiers who returned from the front were greeted with branches of lilac - symbols of spring. Since then, planting plants before Victory Day has become a tradition. On the eve of June 22, an international action “Candle of Remembrance” is being held. Candles are lit in houses as a symbol of sorrow and gratitude to the dead heroes.
In order to tell in detail about the course of the battles, historical reconstructions are arranged. Mass gatherings with clothes and weapons of the time are being gathered, during which key turns of the war are played out before the eyes of the audience. Everyone has the opportunity to witness the Battle of Kursk, the battle “Beginning of the Berlin Operation” and other events.
If we talk about mass events, then we can not help but mention flash mobs. Recently, improvised youth actions have been popular in shopping centers and on city streets, during which people from the crowd take turns picking up a war song that has begun. In the end, passersby hear a whole patriotic choir. But, probably, the most crowded action is the annual Victory Parade and the Immortal Regiment, which has been officially taking place on Red Square since 2015 and gathers more than a million participants. And this is only in Moscow, not counting other cities and countries.
These events do not exist simply to recall several dates from a history textbook several times a year. The main thing that we can learn from commemorative events and actions is an awareness of the horror of war and its consequences. Each person should do everything possible so that such a situation does not happen again in any case.
